June CCC

I signed up pretty quickly for the June Card Chain Challenge over at Society of Stampaholics, and my card is going to Deborah.  I didn't get the card made before leaving for California, so I was at the mercy of my limited supplies...though I do think the card turned out well.

I had made a Peerless watercolor swatch book a la Julie Ebersole and took that with me along with a paint brush.  I stamped the Peonies from Altenew on arches hot press watercolor paper, then colored them with a single paint shade, adding more water to fade the color on the outer petals.

The enamel dots are made by using NUVO Crystal Drops.  I saw these  in my facebook feed and the scrapbook store I visited with my friend had a whole bunch, so I picked up a few.  For my learning curve, I was happier with dropping them on my ranger craft sheet, and then once dry adding just a drop more on the card to adhere the dried dots.  When I tried it directly to paper, the oddly shaped ones had to stay. So I say make them separately and then add to your card. After all the work put into it it would be a shame for the embellishment to make it less than it could be.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  3. I would never have thought this was one color of paint--just gorgeous, Cat! I agree about the embellishments & recently discovered Pico Embellisher can be dried on release paper or craft mat & then glued. The Nuvo looks wonderful & if I came across them in a store I'm sure I wouldn't be able to resist! Happy 4th!
