I love making the girly flowery cards, but it is my luck to have a lot of men on my birthday list...hubs, nephews, brother's-in-law, father's-in-law, my Dad, my Godson, a few friends from work and that adds up to TWENTY man cards a year. Yikes.</p><p>I have found that nature is the easiest way for me to overcome this challenge. Stampin Up has a lot of nature stamps that work well for man cards. Both of these cards feature the set Waterfront. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdi-w_rpxJLdFIwZf-H3cncX7fPDajJHlekIiMBzayoghzD8VvSEoxAD3qulxWPVTWRnQrdTfgR1AsnyoqeA2gmJoYtla37XowVwq1tfZQ2hgdNB5s2loVXFR0UGnoOhCSCM_w5LQn_-Pp8AYtcsCcHtIciC1CBvcn-5joFupU_XIVmAxlwAgon11jqIw/s640/IMG_1122.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="640" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdi-w_rpxJLdFIwZf-H3cncX7fPDajJHlekIiMBzayoghzD8VvSEoxAD3qulxWPVTWRnQrdTfgR1AsnyoqeA2gmJoYtla37XowVwq1tfZQ2hgdNB5s2loVXFR0UGnoOhCSCM_w5LQn_-Pp8AYtcsCcHtIciC1CBvcn-5joFupU_XIVmAxlwAgon11jqIw/w640-h640/IMG_1122.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>I stamped the mountain, sand, and water twice to make it across the card front. Added a gold embossed sentiment from Ellen Hutson.<br /></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihhoooG-aI93DvLhF5LYyw6rcxDoq8qG7NLRifiTPeo20Iy72tJTbzTmrqD8HFfAS0-hsPr1y8KGwaaUMOR7SKGQfwfcI3r1kyun_H-gTw5wNW3gHlyCRUIc70hmJNl7-nJVzFpk3GJ3GUM8SpFzCG3li7BrMDK6G0WwM06rxi3EIqy9X7aqw6Kh6dWI8/s640/IMG_1123.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="640" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihhoooG-aI93DvLhF5LYyw6rcxDoq8qG7NLRifiTPeo20Iy72tJTbzTmrqD8HFfAS0-hsPr1y8KGwaaUMOR7SKGQfwfcI3r1kyun_H-gTw5wNW3gHlyCRUIc70hmJNl7-nJVzFpk3GJ3GUM8SpFzCG3li7BrMDK6G0WwM06rxi3EIqy9X7aqw6Kh6dWI8/w640-h640/IMG_1123.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>This one has the stamps stamped once, then cut with an oval. I added the Honey Bee lovely layers rod and reel to the card over a backround stamp of Stacked Stone(SU) and a piece of vellum. The Happy Birthday oval covers a badly stamped sentiment, but I like the "new and improved" lol look. Gotta save a card when you can.</p><p>So I've made 4 man cards this year of the 20 I need. Fortunately my last two April birthdays are gonna be girly cards.</p><p>Thanks much for visiting.<br /></p><p><br /></p>Cat Craighttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03767792058669196484noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6114753048318015836.post-15816442410089964632024-03-14T17:06:00.000-04:002024-03-14T17:06:46.188-04:0003-14-24<p> Hello-</p><p>Time to seriously attack that bin of new stuff. Had a face-time crafty session with Peggy. Beginning last summer family visits for her and traveling for us along with her early bird morning awake time and my crazy sleep schedule resulted in no times where both of us were up for a crafty session at the same time. </p><p>Although we speak often, there has been no crafting together for a long time and it felt great to get at it again today.</p><p>My card is without a sentiment, because it lends itself to many and I can add it when I send it. I made 6, two with thank yous that are already in their envies awaiting mailing - but I forgot to photograph them before sealing em up!!</p><p>The inspiration for the card were the colors in the mood board at <a href="http://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/2024/02/just-us-girls-challenge-714-mood-board.html" target="_blank">Just us Girls</a>. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYtr2dXddRmz4jjzlG1NZF5uC-0eFrs8WbIsDrRyfOARHyFsaDko6tcIK1KbV7MWEKsfNnRtnU13Qp1ewcWcrahcNLMoR7f2Kf1ExEVYor3HRofYS6Q5MTZbBYk3FhogbhPIJk4JMn6NNDc9TPT8uOd8UfinvYWT8_nLJ89tb5Nh95curYn360J8aZIAM/s1311/IMG_1041.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1311" data-original-width="1311" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYtr2dXddRmz4jjzlG1NZF5uC-0eFrs8WbIsDrRyfOARHyFsaDko6tcIK1KbV7MWEKsfNnRtnU13Qp1ewcWcrahcNLMoR7f2Kf1ExEVYor3HRofYS6Q5MTZbBYk3FhogbhPIJk4JMn6NNDc9TPT8uOd8UfinvYWT8_nLJ89tb5Nh95curYn360J8aZIAM/w640-h640/IMG_1041.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p>The papers, dies and stamp set come from Stampin Up.</p><p>Thanks much for visiting.<br /></p><p><img border="0" data-original-height="750" data-original-width="750" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgK3tT3_SiX7pcK5I0wAi38tSrKNT8-wREDPdFXzCD6b_hcKG9aFHLiGrwsGOM7foZx5jwY7fUr41bz4fBxXY0YZQxD45NjV2U9_CwSl9nGVX4lEfy5wbYCt4s0UPvxFoYtv4ZokWXZMfHG0aoRfbew51DJFGPd4yghQAh4PFF4fagCSDaAdOLh8HtSuzc/w200-h200/Mood%20Board.jpg" width="200" /></p>Cat Craighttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03767792058669196484noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6114753048318015836.post-3585089594895732462024-02-15T14:06:00.005-05:002024-02-15T14:06:50.276-05:002-15-24<p> Hello.</p><p> I so meant to get this card posted yesterday. I had added it to my wishlist on Facebook and just a few hours later got a message from Amazon that something was on its way. I was surprised, delighted an overcome when I opened that message.</p><p>What followed is a round of shopping for hot foiling plates. One plate was perfect for Valentines. I made a handful of panels as practice with a spellbinders hearts plate in red and pink foil. I thought it would make a cute Valentine if it was a little card, so I cut my card bases to 1/2 of an A2 sized card. I colored a cute penguin from MFT, and die cut a circle around it. </p><p>I'm sending this card to <a href="http://www.asyouseeitchallenge.com/2024/02/316.html" target="_blank">As You See It </a>, <a href="https://mynbus.blogspot.com/2024/02/nbus-challenge-59.html" target="_blank">Nbus</a>, and <a href="https://www.welovestamping.co.uk/2024/02/february-challenge.html" target="_blank">We love stamping</a>.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH7_mGR5jcBVy_NSIdTLEeifHB2kdbmFM6jRMDPVaWsS2WNByq3hyfRfgwpDhVEoIZSZRmnSbHYbtcGjZDhfer6az3Dr-V8YejAM4lTwe5FE1gHD-MpcS8wSqgZUGVqH-P5uwJg27qkbgUCXtxzldwS4aRuDCQS9QllA13u52zGXfcACMyaDLtF1HS52s/s640/IMG_0965.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="640" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH7_mGR5jcBVy_NSIdTLEeifHB2kdbmFM6jRMDPVaWsS2WNByq3hyfRfgwpDhVEoIZSZRmnSbHYbtcGjZDhfer6az3Dr-V8YejAM4lTwe5FE1gHD-MpcS8wSqgZUGVqH-P5uwJg27qkbgUCXtxzldwS4aRuDCQS9QllA13u52zGXfcACMyaDLtF1HS52s/w640-h640/IMG_0965.PNG" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>I enjoyed working with a different size.</p><p><img alt="challenge #316" border="0" data-original-height="1800" data-original-width="1800" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpccR_kPIpRD-9YnsfaUdg8vwnieQnb84DFGqTO51TSeDsskC-X2soYo_mmY62vkz0mM7pqzCW5CkoluhCr1XwX2a8WKSx83WRpALc6o3vzGaJ4heoZwAiybZYMKg5ZsXrF5DgumTL-XoKeX3bKvmSsioS2Zx32T4ALzpoleogMN-wuMNxSP5maNdUJ5k/w200-h200/Challenge%20%23316.png" title="Challenge #316" width="200" /> <img alt="Grab our badge to display on your blog." height="147" id="Image1_img" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bXsgKN_OLeo/Xr4SdzRnFDI/AAAAAAAA2oA/e20OqiEQW1AjnW6B2DiF5B1QN_5yiK1owCK4BGAYYCw/w200-h147/2%2Bsmall%2BUSE%2BTHIS%2BONE%2BNBUS%2Bparticipants%2Bbadge%2Bwith%2BURL.jpg" style="visibility: visible;" width="200" /> <img alt="Please share our challenge logo" height="142" id="Image4_img" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lo244oIqGC0/YYOrJM7nVAI/AAAAAAAAp0Y/WrmMRnJ3Ac8XyVnsJ7ynBB1cq_nqAAL0gCLcBGAsYHQ/w200-h142/We%2BLove%2BStamping%2B%252811%2529.png" style="visibility: visible;" width="200" /> </p><p>Thanks much for stopping by. I usually have them made up way ahead of time, but this year I am behind already...lol. No worries. One look at the colors and an idea blossomed.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikEC0lN2iuVZaEYGSom0jRadpIpoPB9DJCYU0yve4stZzRItYMfBPft1IzaslDFeBfOtYE1eY_a7glS1dd4Jy5RfiFRhI2zUbtOgqneCGVpDtJ2B4GPDDAb1GYs3lm1xhaYw-e3UfNf7yrEKJVBjtV6HwZcEBnARkIU1Pp36vhlcEbMjkCvkFEkVuKAh4/s1083/IMG_0890.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1083" data-original-width="1083" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikEC0lN2iuVZaEYGSom0jRadpIpoPB9DJCYU0yve4stZzRItYMfBPft1IzaslDFeBfOtYE1eY_a7glS1dd4Jy5RfiFRhI2zUbtOgqneCGVpDtJ2B4GPDDAb1GYs3lm1xhaYw-e3UfNf7yrEKJVBjtV6HwZcEBnARkIU1Pp36vhlcEbMjkCvkFEkVuKAh4/w640-h640/IMG_0890.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /> I wanted to stick with a winter theme because its a seasonal thank you, but I couldn't resist making those lagoon colors (green blues pink) into something for a cooler season.<br /><p></p><p style="text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="5000" data-original-width="6250" height="256" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-KoWuZDGrTGqs6p_IBPmhrnezYt7iFOQszxWG60_nxJIAZbYbXmsGtFkrU-EfxLhIZ2WjwBQaU087HarrSiD6K68tqvnXXv9Fdxf8PMGlnE4ot6ZBZwkghurbbab7vmaMDsK3ASKpB-vhyphenhyphen2XkhufgiqFt6u8QoTpApdDP-xUBA1YM69kMbWU5ZXp6bAmV/w320-h256/CO_BlueLagoon_01_2024.png" width="320" /> </p><p style="text-align: left;">The stamps and die cuts are from the Greetery, Inks by Altenew, and the circle panel is a Pink Fresh diecut. There is also a pink gemstone from Stampin Up in the center of the flower.<br /></p><p style="text-align: left;">I am also submitting this to <a href="https://giveacrafteracookie.blogspot.com/2024/01/cookie-challenge-188-january-winter.html" target="_blank">If you give a Crafter a Cookie.</a>..theme is winter wishes and this is definitely a winter wish thank you.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="430" data-original-width="430" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLiT5zunivZHbT72wlEA6qyhYlVxbirDJY_KrgL4ZD2NM45fdfICH2FqkH9yLIB9eAtRx5dOk5Jrw_W3N-C7dEl1V8D4DQEw3I2a7Gv-K9gwfOpiaORLAPSCDuLtHksXJX2uXo36mgMaH5IRJmH-sgosudE4yUyqTDG6vZIMC9wH_T_8qv0Nf-0tk71wO_/w320-h320/1jan.jpg" width="320" /> </p><p style="text-align: left;">On a personal note, I have been taking quite a bit of time from this hobby I love but have lost a lot of mojo for over the last few years. My posts have been significantly less frequent than they were pre-pandemic. The pandemic changed me, I felt less like being out in the world for the last three years. </p><p style="text-align: left;">A few months ago I started to come out of hibernation; Hubs and I got on an airplane--that was huge for me--so many people trapped all together in a flying tin can for hours. But the trip to see family was so very worth it. Starting with that trip Hubs and I have actually gone into restaurants for a meal and stayed there to eat several times in the last 4 months. I still have my mask in my hand bag at all times so if I feel I need it, its close by. </p><p style="text-align: left;">Life is starting to feel more normal again. I am hoping this translates to feeling more creative.<br /></p><p style="text-align: left;">I do want to thank you all for your visits, cards and emails throughout the year and I can't wait to see the lovely projects you all post.<br /></p>Cat Craighttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03767792058669196484noreply@blogger.com15tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6114753048318015836.post-27721516202380770302023-12-01T03:30:00.001-05:002023-12-01T03:30:00.136-05:0012-01-23<p> Hi There-</p><p>Another new month, and the next Calendar page. Hi there, I'm washing towels today along with a bit of cardmaking. Is Monday a popular laundry day for those not working a M-F work schedule? I remember when I used to go the the laundry mat years ago Monday's were the busiest day.</p><p>On to a more fun topic... I am still working away on those Christmas cards. This one is a bit more elaborate than I typically go just due to sheer volume of cards made. But it was another one of those ideas in my head...</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqqxx0n1jTpONTQCR3T5Ei6ROHSRTMdRm9f1NedsrINcxGndPMRcRQ8rRcywETY0omq1ffKAcgoSb-chxGmdNejZwfBQP2Q-Rt7izPqVEAxiNXTgzSfpQOmd3y0tE_9DR6Oxh2_6J5pcPNrUGF7As6fX-kYorSTs_TsU7RyxKle-QJ76EAINZEtKCc8gE/s640/IMG_0833.PNG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="640" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqqxx0n1jTpONTQCR3T5Ei6ROHSRTMdRm9f1NedsrINcxGndPMRcRQ8rRcywETY0omq1ffKAcgoSb-chxGmdNejZwfBQP2Q-Rt7izPqVEAxiNXTgzSfpQOmd3y0tE_9DR6Oxh2_6J5pcPNrUGF7As6fX-kYorSTs_TsU7RyxKle-QJ76EAINZEtKCc8gE/w400-h400/IMG_0833.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><p>Its a kind of lattice card. The criss-cross pieces fold over a piece of poinsettia flocked vellum which was adhered to a blank card panel. I cut the poinsettia from wrapping paper adhered to another card panel and the sentiment is a pre-made piece from Pinkfresh. With some practice I might get those pieces even...but then again I like quirky. </p><p>This will visit the <a href="http://www.asyouseeitchallenge.com/2023/11/312.html" target="_blank">As You See it </a>gallery. I am usually glued to the football games, but they haven't yet started. I got a good nights sleep last night, and felt like working on the 12 cards I yet need for my Christmas Card List.</p><p>When I saw the colors at <a href="http://colorhuesthecolorchallenge.blogspot.com/2023/11/color-hues-76-red-and-metallic-gold.html" target="_blank">Color Hues</a> I knew what I wanted to try...of course the rub is does it match the pic in my head once its done. Today...YES! I am also sending this to <a href="https://dd-tripleb.blogspot.com/2023/11/november-challenge.html" target="_blank">Triple B,</a> because it has a bird and I don't often make bird cards. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7McTGFRDpQN7Y712IeiSBnC4FyV028G1fxJFfvYKqv4CAy41w8VYzCvewffyIez-gvyyfxw9yzYT1OGicpnCbuu9tzaUPpQMf_kWt3YNQA7oUJMThEgPvcPjmAaW56Eg_B6GgCqenVh6Jp9R5hogceHn4jOKwjRGcHARZfZu0u_Xbqfyj6vd5tHWO-ak/s1023/IMG_0831.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1023" data-original-width="1023" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7McTGFRDpQN7Y712IeiSBnC4FyV028G1fxJFfvYKqv4CAy41w8VYzCvewffyIez-gvyyfxw9yzYT1OGicpnCbuu9tzaUPpQMf_kWt3YNQA7oUJMThEgPvcPjmAaW56Eg_B6GgCqenVh6Jp9R5hogceHn4jOKwjRGcHARZfZu0u_Xbqfyj6vd5tHWO-ak/w400-h400/IMG_0831.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p>I used SSS's partridge in a pear tree die, it was a freebie a week or 10 days ago with a special code. I decided why not and picked up another stamp set I had been wanting. I have to say it die cuts quite easily even out of mirror cardstock. </p><p>So 4 more done for my stash and 8 to go. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="880" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaggSKqLrBNIM_r94-wwvFvwU5IFkVsJtJY8eCsDXpemj83fqG4tTme5NXfXxjcqGkkhhw0BUJ2cxd0Hr1HZoyHGXV8T0V37w7N7SYGlwloVgQRUdFuDaT3Vxi0xPjDPVkdLGC4C0ZRi-gn40NZ5EbCzsewXFmXSgju16XZmvQGsN1fOoICnm6s2vQnrk/w163-h200/%E2%80%8ECH%20%2376%20Red%20and%20Met.%20Gold.%E2%80%8E001.jpeg" width="163" /> <img border="0" data-original-height="354" data-original-width="702" height="161" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixoxqGSylwcDjoqDM4hntqVQEaQTfKzjh5LCJk6Ff4QmfPqlgSgNY2aAPVmbONPcCbRr_ZSOgBq5ULxnCv_RNWe5FZKRExk2TGIYfUkDExoPKWKw-HjiuC7Qp0QOxwSufUYdvCaVlCcVGWEf7M86U0HEmotS_QDpyu2Hfpkr_Q6fpTxRGkOUtXAfYYCw/w320-h161/nov2-side.jpg" width="320" /> </p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: left;">Thnaks so much for stopping by!<br /></p>Cat Craighttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03767792058669196484noreply@blogger.com16tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6114753048318015836.post-76192792363159477212023-11-11T10:56:00.000-05:002023-11-11T10:56:19.496-05:0011-11-23<p> Hello-</p><p>Its been a while since I posted. And it was hard to get back into the groove. I still need to make Christmas cards, but thought I'd throw in a Thanksgiving card today. As I looked out my window the sun was coming over the house and a golden glow hit the trees in back...</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuthDgyg3Qy8lMED84lv0DXmnjpWlgBeBtxdQoK5Th3KyX8BQjhkb6txn_2f8Z11h-sxjwkyC6i0ho8-J8m9WkGqHQTIvozdFrnusBSbwc3ThW72nUplrjmLIVKUFynhAbflHeYDdgLzmvz8dyAlPiCb9EqxQI6wQylYygbi6PAnLoaK0ZU1hAl28SJoo/s1280/IMG_0815.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="1280" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuthDgyg3Qy8lMED84lv0DXmnjpWlgBeBtxdQoK5Th3KyX8BQjhkb6txn_2f8Z11h-sxjwkyC6i0ho8-J8m9WkGqHQTIvozdFrnusBSbwc3ThW72nUplrjmLIVKUFynhAbflHeYDdgLzmvz8dyAlPiCb9EqxQI6wQylYygbi6PAnLoaK0ZU1hAl28SJoo/w400-h400/IMG_0815.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><p></p><p>So leaves and Thanksgiving are my starting points for this card. This time we did not drive across the country but flew instead. For me this was a big step. Covid changed me from the fearless lets do it to a very cautious person. The thought of flying confined with so many other people gave me concerns. However, I knew my knees would not be happy cramped for 4 days of car travel. I did splurge and get seating at the very front of the flight. Much more leg room, and wider seats made it easier for me to maneuver around. An added bonus, I didn't feel all the people around us. Although the flight was full and I saw everyone getting on the plane I did not freak out! YAY. </p><p>In about 4 hours we were in Salt Lake. We had a few days of sight seeing, a birthday party, a poker tournament with my Dad along with some leaf peeping. Then I got sick...not covid...but it was a respiratory virus. I was in bed a couple of days and taking it easy a few more. But that left time to hang out and play with the dog, and pet the cats even Digger who is a one man cat. Digger allowed pets, a first time in 10 years.</p><p>Fortunately hubs didn't get sick until after we got home; this was a first as he usually gets sick west of the Mississippi and then shares it with me. I am looking forward to our next flight out...even though I can now never sit back in economy again. I've been spoiled...will have to watch for another bargain.</p><p><br /></p><p>Thanks so much for stopping by.<br /></p><p><br /></p>Cat Craighttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03767792058669196484noreply@blogger.com20
