Graduation

Hi there-

My Godson is graduating from college, and we headed to California to help celebrate his achievement.  Unfortunately, hubs came down with a virus two days into our visit and yep two days later I had it too.  Hubs is on the upswing feeling better each day. I hope I am feeling better each day too.  I am heartsick to miss this graduation. I do hope I can catch it online if nothing else.

I went for a more formal card in black and white.  I love the Darice embossing folder - and to make sure those mortarboards embossed deeply I gave the paper a brief spritz of water before embossing.  No sequins on the card - its a guy card, but a few in the picture to add to the festiveness.

Thanks much for stopping by!

Oh no--that is just awful, Cat! So, so sorry you're sick & hope you feel much better soon! I've never seen a more perfect graduation card--absolutely love it! When I first got a die cut machine & embossing folder, they sold me a spray to use on the paper. Not long ago I remembered it--hardly used & wouldn't spray, so out it went. Glad to know you can just use a mist of water. Sending hugs (good thing they're virtual--haha!)--Greta

Cat, I'm so very sorry to hear this news... what a heartache!
LOve that folder, and you're the second to mention spritzing the paper first - I have a few [understatement if I ever typed one] folders that could benefit from a dose of spritzing!
Feel better SOON!

I am so sorry that you missed the graduation but sometimes, especially with sickness, it just happens. I do however love this card, I use this same embossing folder for grad cards often!

I'm so sorry you'll miss your Godson's graduation, Cat ... hope you get chance to see it online ... and celebrate with him when you're both feeling better. Your card is cool and handsome ... and what a great tip for getting deep embossing ... not heard that one before. Wishing you a swift recovery. Hugs, Anita :)
