Blog Anniversary

Today, September 15, 2014 is my 2 year blog-anniversary. I am so enjoying making cards and sharing them.

I also am so thankful for the blogging friends I have made these past two years. You are all kind, talented, and absolutely wonderful! Thank you for your support, visits and kind comments!

To celebrate, I have made two cards for you my visitiors...and I will have a little give away of some crafty items as well, just leave a comment by Thursday 9-25 at 11:59 pm edt telling me how long you have been crafting---and what your crafting start was.

A winner will be announced Friday September 26th, 2014.

I used the Hero Arts Etched Flowers stamp for the main image for both cards.  I used distress markers and Canson 140 cold press water color paper for the image. On each panel I colored the stamp and then stamped it. Next I softened it by adding water with a brush.  I wanted a soft feeling to the image. The second card, uses only the large flower image from the stamp, stamped repeatedly.

The first card is mounted on SU and Bazzill card stocks, the MFT sentiment is heat embossed with HA embossing powder, and a bit of DMC floss for the bow.

The second card is overlaid with vellum mounted on a Hero Arts card base that was heat embossed with gold thin strips from Stampendous.  The sentiment is from SU, the pearls are from Martha Stewart. The gold string, is on an unmarked spool.

Both of these panels were made while Hubs and I were in Maine for a week. He had a seminar to attend and we flew up a few days early to play tourist. We did some sight seeing, and I will leave you with a picture of some of my favorite trip images.
Thanks so much for stopping by, have a wonderful week!

Hi Cat,
Congrats on 2 years of blogging. I have been stamping cards for 5 years now. Like many others, I started stamping when I attended a Stampin' Up party in 2009. I have made cards since I was a little girl, always liked to draw and get my fingers dirty. Your cards are so pretty, I would love to receive them :)

Congratulations on the 2 year mark! How exciting!! Love the cards you made for your anniversary, so pretty! I have been stamping and making cards on and off for about 7 years, but just over the past couple of years have I been serious about it, joining Flickr and starting my own blog to share my creations. I agree about the friends you meet online who share this hobby - they are the BEST! Looks like a great trip to Maine :)

I've been crafting for years - embroidery, macrame, cross-stitch, .... I started stamping/cardmaking three years ago when my youngest son went to college.

How soft and lovely! You couldn't have chosen better cards to celebrate your anniversary in the blogosphere.

I've been crafting since I was 8-9 years old. My family has such an artsy background and my grandmother taught me how to stamp. Every year, to this day, we get together for an entire day and make homemade Valentines cards. It's been such a blessing to learn new techniques from her over the years.

Firstly, I want to apologize for my late visit...Happy Blog Anniversary, Cat! Thank 'you' for providing us with such a wonderful, fun and creative place to visit! And, for all the love you share on our blogs!

Your cards are absolutely beautiful! I love how you added a touch of water to the flowers on the first one, and the 'dreamy' effect you achieved on the second card! I also love the touch of gold you added with your embossing and bow...so elegant!

I've been crafting for many years...started with macrame' in the 70's, then scrapbooking about 10 - 12 yrs ago, followed by card making in the last few years.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos from Maine! How nice that you were able to join your hubby for his seminar and have some time to play tourist :)

Congratulations on two years- wow! I've been crafting for 12 - TWELVE!

A friend sent me a card she made in an SU class and warned me she'd be sending me more cards that she made. I was so taken by the whole thing, while on vacation in FL, I stopped into the local craft store (where I used to get cardboard shapes for my kids to make things with shells) and got sucked into a heat embossing demonstration. The rest, as we say, is history.

PS: I LOVED Maine! Had such a good time there.
PPS: I don't want to win - I have enough stuff. Want some of it?

Congratulations on your blogversary Cat, way to go girl. Your cards are beautiful. I always loved crafting by doing decoupage but when I moved to the US I was introduced to Scrapbooking about 9 years ago and then made a few handmade greeting cards and just could not stop from thereon:-)
