Halloween

I was at my LSS last fall and had ordered a die by Stampendous, after making a cute card at their make n take.  Between my time spent in Maryland and the back-orders of the die it was April of this year before I actually got my hands on the die. After waiting so long, I definitely was using this die for my cards.  I spent WCMD making my Halloween cards.

These cards were easy to make.  I simply cut 12 x 12 black cardstock into two 5.5 by 12 inch pieces.  I cut the die on one end of the piece, then scored the piece 4.25 and 8.5 inches from the un-die-cut end.  Two more pieces were cut one of white and one of patterned paper. They each measured 4 by 5.25 inches. The white piece was stamped with the interior sentiment, the long piece was stamped in silver with the exterior sentiment under the die-cut scene.

The patterned piece was placed on the straight end, and the white on the other side of the paper in the middle section.  The score lines were folded and VOILA a tri fold card.

Scrambling and an Update

I have spent the last two months in California, house sitting for my Dad, and spending a few weeks with him after his return. I enjoyed spending time in California catching up with my girlfriends, and scrapbooking...I seem to do more of that on the west coast.

Hubs traveled with me for the first two weeks, but then we had 6 weeks apart.  It was NOT fun. For most of our life together that has not been unusual. We met while living on opposite coasts.  However, since I retired in 2012 we have spent most of our time together.

I am so glad to be back in Maryland, the fall colors are starting to pop, and I really missed Hubs!

Saturday was a busy day. I started it out with a Hero Arts Scramble...90 minutes to get instructions, design and make the card, photograph it and upload to the thread.  Sounds like a lot, but it really can be done. I have to admit that it was a rush to finish them at first, but after a year and a half of participating, 90 minutes feels like a vacation.

The instructions were to make a card with snowflakes and glitter. I used a snowflake background stamp and a grunge type sentiment stamp from Hero Arts. Papers by American Crafts, Versamark Ink, and Stampendous Winter Wonderland embossing powder (white with silver glitter). Hard to photograph glitter for some reason...

After the scramble we attended a local fall arts festival, listened to the Air Force Band Max Impact, and strolled the small farmers market.  We picked up some mums and changed out the front door flower pots, I had impatiens there for the summer and they were starting to get stringy. I am on the hunt for some smaller gourds and a pumpkin or two to finish my front door fall scene.

I was in California and mojo-less for my 1 year blog-oversary; so I will be celebrating with some blog candy for commenters on my 200th post which will be coming up soon. Have a wonderful day!

Hey Pumpkin

Another card for Hubs. I used to send him a lot of cards when we were dating since we lived so far apart. It was a little bit of love in the mail each week.  Being apart gives me the opportunity to spoil him with some hand made cards, to bring some love until I return to Maryland mid October.

I love this cute set from Simon Says Stamp.  I colored the image with Copic's and fussy cut it. It is popped up on dimensional strips. The "i miss you" is from a Technique Tuesday set.  I really love the look of handwritten sentiments.

Thank you

Hubs surprised me with the beautiful bouquet below. I love flowers, and he sends or brings them to me quite often.  I loved the colors of this bouquet; and, thought I might try to make a card reflective of those lovely sherbert colors.

Thanks for stopping by!

Daffodils

I picked up this Stampendous stamp at my LSS a few weeks ago at a crop night. I love scrap-booking, but it seems I am always looking at the stamps!

I colored  this image a few times and made a few different cards to see how it looks.

Insider Day 3

I am posting this late, because I have two cards that are similar. The first is my first try at a 3D window, the second is a birthday card for our niece. I think this style is perfect for a bit of cash, a check, or a gift card.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by.
